Chick Henderson Story - How EMI Lost Thousands

In order to find “Begin the Beguine”, a series called “Dance Records” had to be looked for. In the 1951 catalogue, there were only seven “Dance” records. These included “Sans Cullottes” by American, Teddy Powell and his Swing Or- chestra, and a foxtrot (Sic) by Joe Loss — “Begin the Beguine”. The recording was also a bolero, according to small print on the label!! The tiny asterisk * denoted there was a vocal on the disc. It never revealed the name of the singer who was, in fact, Chick Henderson.
